GAME 4: Tom Gorzelanny recovered from shoulder trouble with a scoreless inning, but Paul Maholm followed and allowed 3 runs in 2 innings (though the Pirates claim he pitched better than that). Chris Gomez was on base both at-bats and Doug Mientkiewicz was on base twice and scored once. FINAL: Rays 7 Pirates 5. (1-3)
GAME 5: Matt Morris pitched a solid two scoreless innings but Casey Fossum would surrender two runs and Rule-5 pick Evan Meek allowed one more today against the Phillies. Steve Pearce knocked home the only Pirate run. FINAL: Phillies 3 Pirates 1. (1-4)
The Pirates will face Dice-K and the Red Sox tomorrow at 1:05. Phil Dumatrait will start for the Bucs.
