Well, we've got three days without Pirate baseball. For many, this is definitely a good thing, and even for diehards like me, it's nice to have a little time off. One thing's for sure: the team itself ABSOLUTELY will savor the break, especially the entire pitching staff.

The Home Run Derby comes on at 8 tonight (ESPN), of course, from Yankee Stadium. Although there aren't any super-marquee names in it this year (A-Rod is taking some heat for refusing to do it), I always get a kick out of watching it. I was there when PNC hosted the Derby and it was awesome. It means basically nothing, but it's definitely fun to watch.

The participants:
Lance Berkman (Astros)
Ryan Braun (Brewers)
Josh Hamilton (Rangers)
Evan Longoria (Rays)
Justin Morneau (Twins)
Grady Sizemore (Indians)
Dan Uggla (Marlins)
Chase Utley (Phillies)
-----
Take some time to watch 'em go yard.

And just for fun:
