You Gotta Love These Pirates

The trip to Denver showed us they're not going anywhere this season. But then games like this happen.
---
My quick, unorganized, midnight, tired, and still excited recap:

JVB wasn't horrible, but the offense was against the terrible pitcher Hernandez. Johnny V. left the game down 3-2 after 5. There was some nice work by Grabow to escape a bases-loaded-1-out jam in the 6th that Burnett left him, lots of baserunners stranded by the Pirates, and more solid bullpen work. It was 3-2 in the 9th, and Valverde, a good (and annyoing/show-off-ish) closer came in to end it. Doumit smoked a line drive to the track for an out. Bay put up a great AB and absolutely murdered a 3-2 pitch to tie it. Nady singled, and LaRoche took a fastball the other way out of the ballpark to amazingly give the Bucs the lead, 5-3. They weren't done, though. A hit, walk, and another hit for a sixth run. After a pitching change, Nate K'd, but Freddy drove one deep the other way, got a crazy bounce (a lot like the ball in Denver) and went all the way around for a 3 run inside the parker.

Bucs win 9-3. Just add it to the list of amazing wins.

More later on Tuesday.
