GameDay #157 at Brewers

Pirates (65-91) at Brewers (85-71)
8:05--Miller Park, Milwaukee
Jeff Karstens (2-6, 4.37) vs. Dave Bush (9-10, 4.22)
[Preview]
--------------
So, which team has dominated the Pirates the most this season? Cubs, right?
Wrong. The Milwaukee Brewers are a stunning 11-1 against the Pirates, and that one win was at PNC. The Pirates have yet to win at Miller in 6 tries this year. Here come three more.
-
It would be a bad time for the Brewers to stop that trend. The Brew Crew is 5-15 in September, a month they started with a 5.5 game lead in the wild card. Now, they TRAIL the Mets by a game. This is Pittsburgh's best chance to play spoiler yet.
-
It won't be easy. Jeff Karstens is 0-6 since his brilliant start. His last few outings haven't been terrible, but some of them have been, and the offense is far from a sure thing at this point. Dave Bush, after suffering the Brewers' only loss to the Pirates all year, has now beaten the Bucs twice.
--------------------
The most important Pirate news is a far cry from the game to game stuff at this point in the season, though:

-The Pedro situation will be completely, officially, finally over when the grievance is resolved, which now appears inevitable [PG].

-WHYGAVS and [Bucs Dugout] combine to formulate their ideal offseason plan for the Pirate position players.

-[News from a couple days ago]: Pitt product Jim Negrych was named minor league hitter of the year (.359 AVG combined in High-A and AA) and Jeff Sues was named minor league pitcher of the year (3.22 ERA combined in High-A and AA).

-I'll save my Jack Wilson talk for the end of the season.

-I plan to liveblog one of these last few games just for the sake of doing it--and for introducing next year's gamethread format. Stay tuned--I'll let you know in the GameDay which day I'm doing it.
